Omaha
Area
Emerald
Society
The
Omaha Area Emerald Society was chartered in
January 1997 and its members are of Irish heritage and involved in Public Safety
on the local, state, and federal level. We also have many wonderful associate
members who although they are not employed in public safety, are Irish and
support our objectives. The Omaha Area Emerald Society
is a proud member of:
"National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies"

The
Omaha Area Emerald
Society participates every year in the annual St.
Patrick’s Day parade in downtown Omaha. The past two years, we have had 60-80
members and vehicles from many public safety organizations in and around Omaha
participate in the parade. Our members consist of municipal police officers,
deputy sheriffs, corrections officers, parole/probation officers, firefighters,
and other members of the criminal justice/public safety professions.
We
also provide scholarships to members and their dependents every year. A minimum
of three $250 scholarships are offered.
We
also host fundraising Irish music concerts periodically.
Membership
dues are $20 per year.
